Theodore Haun Family

The caption under this picture in Mrs. Duke's book tells us that some of the people have been identified as family members from Jesse James' home in Missouri. It says that Mrs. Duke believes that the boy on the right is Jesse's half-brother, Archie Payton Samuel. The photo shown here is actually a copy of an original of Theodore N. Haun and his family, taken just after the death of his wife in the late 1890s in Morris County, Kansas. The original is now owned by Freida Haun. The subjects were identified by family members at a Haun reunion in 2001. The boy on the right is Floyd Adolphus Haun, Theodore's youngest son. As an adult he was a railroad engineer nicknamed "Toots." He lived until 1974 and is lovingly remembered by the family.
