From uncle Dick's research I saw for the first time the outline of my James ancestors. One thing was very clear. Uncle Dick's research showed no Jesse James in our family.
For years following, though, my cousins kept asking the question, "Aren't we related to Jesse James?" Perhaps my father had told them something. I don't know. Uncle Dick kept referring to his research. He certainly didn't think so. Uncle Dick repeated to us what he heard from our great aunts when he asked them the question.
